Bûche de Noël                                                                               

The French traditional Christmas cake…much better than the American fruit cake!  Meaning yule log, these cakes represent the large log families would burn in their hearth during Christmas festivities in the early 1700s.  Traditionally Bûche de Noëls are made with yellow cake with chocolate frosting however;  like everything, if it’s a success they’ll make spin-offs.  This Christmas, the Bûche de Noël comes in many different flavors and decorations (as shown in the pictures).
